NZ Legal Jobs look better for kiwi lawyers

New Zealand legal jobs are looking on the up, according to recruiters spoken to by the legal jobs website LawFuel. The jobs scene is probably going to turn a little more in favourof the lawyers, they say, with law firms having been in a great 'buyers' market' for lawyers as lawyers return from the UK and elsewhere. All in all, things on the NZ legal jobs scene look better than they did 18months ago.

Lawyers See New Remuneration Model with UK Legal Jobs

Changes to the way US and UK firms treat their associates have been highlighted in the legal jobs blog LawJobsPipeline, which reports on the new model adopted by Reed Smith, diminishing the lockstep model of lawyer remuneration. The model seems to be catching on across the Atlantic.

Solicitor Jobs New Zealand

More New Zealand solicitor jobs are being listed on LawFuel, the legal jobs website as the economy begins to show signs of lifting. The increase in legal job listings is representative of an increase in a couple of things, according to some recruiters. First, there are more property jobs being listed due to an increase in the New ZEaland property market and second, there are more provincial law jobs being listed as provincial law firms hunt for lawyers who have eluded them for so long.

Further, there are busy litigation teams in the bigger and medium-sized firms that are not switching lawyers back into property, but rather keeping them in the still-busy litigation areas.

See LawFuel.co.nz for Solicitor Job listings every day.
